any plugs that
would fit nicely into holes in a bumper?"
I found some perfect plugs at the local auto paint supply
(Wesco). They are black, and were even textured similarly to
the black mid stripe on the front bumper of my 4KQ. They
plugged into the two 10mm holes that previously accepted the
factory plate holder. The plate holder broke, and I didn't
feel like paying the $30 the dealership wants for it. Plus,
front license plates are ugly. The only problem I had was
that the large external diameter of the cap (about 20mm)
extended down into the body colored painted area of the
bumper. So I cut the bottom straight with Mr. Xacto, and it
looks almost factory. I suppose these could be painted body
color if that were necessary. Your only problem would be
finding a plug that would fit the auger drilled holes you
have. You might have to reduce the size of the hole by
filling with a little body putty and redrilling.
