Adding to this - there are two types of sodium lighting. Low Pressure and
High Pressure.
LP provides an orange-yellow light, is often used for steetlighting while HP
gives that really bright golden yellow and is usually used for
floodlighting - especially for buildings constructed of pale coloured
stones.
Mercury lighting is white, although some types tend to have a slight blue
tint.
