Discount Converter

Bought the right and left converters for my '93 V6 100
last month. The delivery was excellent considering
that they came out of a CA warehouse, I'm in ATL GA,
and Fred (of Discount) is in Houston. He said two
days, two days it was. Two day air was only about $40
over the order ($636), I considered that reasonable.

The converters fit OK, though they are NOT OE look.
If you are expecting Leistritz (the OE Audi used), you
may be disappointed. These look like someone took a
generic three-way converter, then bent and cut the
pipes to fit.

Even the parts guy at the local dealer (when quoting
me the $1000 each for OE) remarked that Audi's prices
on the OE units were insane, and felt if these
converters worked, then I was doing ok.

My tech tip on the matter is that if you are changing
the converters, change out your O2 sensors too. These
three-way converters want to see as clean an engine as
possible upstream.

If your converters are shot/plugged, don't be
surprised to find the car has gobs of extra power once
this job is done. Mine sure did!
