I can't remember specifically. Roger Galvin and I went to see the car
on a used car lot in Weedon near Northampton. We'd both done a lot of
work on Roger's Type 44 and when we lifted the bonnet we both exclaimed
at the dissimilarities. Lots of things looked very different - I can
remember only that the radiator stood out, but I can't remember why.
We closed the bonnet pretty quickly and I called my insurers. Over
here, the insurers have parts prices on their databases (this was
what caused me so much trouble with the repairs to F600) and they
refused to cover the 500SE.
