Get the power as close to the battery or alternator as possible. Just make sure your
connection has a suitable fuse so you don't end up with a toasted Audi. Use as large
a wire as is practical, route it over the shortest possible distance.
You will need at least two relays. One for lows and one for highs. The relays must
be rated for the amount of amperage of all the bulbs on that circuit.
Also, don't underestimate the importance of a good ground. Remember the electrons
flow in a circuit so just having a good positive side isn't good enough. Use large
gauge wire and screw it right into some heavy sheet metal near the lights. Make
sure the ground doesn't go into some removable body part, as this is not usually
a good ground. Scrape the spot to shiny metal and attach the ground with a quality
loop terminal. Solder all connections. You can use a sheet metal screw but a nut
and bolt is better. Shoot a bit of paint on the are AFTER the connection is made
and you have tested your new lights.
Later...
