1982 4cyl diesel displacement?

If you're sure it's a 4 cyl 4000 diesel, then the answer is yes.  The 5000
also came in diesel versions, which had a 5 cylinder motor.  Some ancillaries
are different from the VW version but the basic bits are the same.
