Subject: Rear Suspension clunking/grinding
Hi all
On the same note as previous post, the same car has aquired a noise from the left rear shock, We replaced the rear shocks with bilsteins (non-sport) about a year ago, and all-of-a-sudden there is a creeking/grinding noise coming from the suspension. I took the wheel off this afternoon, put the car on floor jacks and proceeded to jack the control arm up and down. I determined the sound is coming from the upper area of the shock assembly, hence the upper shock mount. It's black, square, and has 4 mounting bolts coming through from inside the trunk. Do these cars have strut bearings like VW and BMW? I called the dealer and they didn't seem to think so...What could be the cause of this ? Any help is greatly appreciated !!!!
Thanks
Tim
