<< s it just the moniker 90S? or is there an option w/upgraded suspension or
brakes or wheels or what? I'd prefer to know about the V6 latter 90's as
opposed to the earlier 5-cylinders...
One more thing, when did the V6 replace the 5cyl.? was it '92.....

Well, I just happen to have the 1994 sales book - here we go.
The 90 CS (all of the quattros were CS's, according to this) FWD was slower
to 60 than the S, in both manual and auto, by .2 and .1 secs, respectivly.
The CS had the following standard options: electronic automatic climate
control, power steel sunroof w/one touch open, it had the option of having
the sunroof deleted on special order, power locking with infared remote,
ignition key with infared transmitter, right AND left illuminated mirrors in
visors, 8 way power driver seat, leather shift knob and boot (should you
choose a manual), and that's about it. According to this, also, all of the
quattros had these options, plus sport seats and a rear wing, neither of
which was available on other models. Interestingly, apparently the rear
suspension on the cabrio is the same setup as on the GT, which is different
than the fwd 90's. The CS 90 manual was about 50 lbs heavier than the S, and
about 200 lbs lighter than the quattro. Maximum speed in all models limited
to 130mph in the US, although 137 is apparently acheivable in Europe. Think
that's about it....any other questions?
The quattro sport package was just appearance, I think (and according to
this, it would seem so...). Funny, I just bought some of these wheels that
I'm now looking at....thanks, Scott :-)
Later!
