bolt a 20vt head to a 10vt block?

I've heard this idea tossed around before and I have also heard conflicting
reports of issues such as coolant path locations on the two blocks etc.

So what's the real scoop on this?  Would it be possible for me to, say pick
up a 20vt or 20v NA head and 20vt manifolds and bolt it to my 10vt MC block?
Seems like an easier way to go EFI and gain the benefits of a crossflow head
if I can source the parts...

The archives only yielded one relevant post stating something about piston
heights being different when someone asked about swapping 10v NA for 20v
NA..  What about my situation (10vt block for 20v head)?
