You're right on the money.

As it happens, the car is built under licence in India as a Maruti-Suzuki with
an even smaller (!) variant (800 cc) of the same engine making all of 45 bhp.
I've driven the car in India, and it seemed amazingly peppy, and actually
rather fun to drive.  No automatic, of course, and around-town speeds rarely
exceed 40 mph.  In addition, roads are narrow, which contributes to the
sensation of speed.

It's been around for sixteen years or so, and only recently has its immense
popularity started to wane in the face of newer, more sophisticated Japanese
competition.

It's all relative ...
