Buzzing alternator??

Sounds like the alternator is going under heavy load to charge the
battery up for a few seconds. I think my old 5k used to do this, not sure.
The 200q20v once lost an alernator...check to make sure the noise filter
is installed on the alternator; when  my mechanic replaced the PO's Pep
Boys Blue Light Special unit, he reported that the filter was missing(and
the alternator was the wrong unit, installed incorrectly, using the wrong
bracket; this description, related to me over the phone, was intertwined
with a string of mild profanity describing the quality of workmanship, the
Pep Boys mechanic's mother, etc.)  The bill of work, when I picked up the
car, included half a dozen miscelaneous audi alternator mounting bits and
pieces.
