Replace the damaged switch and wiring, and install relays on your
headlight. All the power to the headlights go through the switch, not
a good thing, especially not when the wires and switch get old.. Do a
search in the archives to find a description on how to rewire with
relays if you don't know how to do it. When you have done this, only a
very small current will flow through the wiring and switch, and your
problem should be gone for good! :-)
