With the available time due to the holidays, I decided it was a good time to
attack the heater core and dash swap in the 83 URQ.
I thought the wiring would be the real challenge, but it appears the heater
core makes that look like child play. Once the dash was out I figured the
core would be reasonable accessible. WRONG!
A friend had his done for $600 which included a few other wiring issues.
Helluva deal. I wouldn't do it for $600 no way.
Any BTDT help on how to free the core from it's plastic prison? That sucker
is buried! Does the white cowling intake box need to be removed? It appears
that the screws that secure it from the top also reach the box underneath.
The car never has shown a leak, but the smell of glycol during heater use is
becoming a health concern, and I would like to take care of it.
TIA
