Here is one easy way to tell whether the V6 is a 12V or a 30V.
With the hood open and you're standing in front facing the engine,
if the oil filler cap is on the left bank of the engine, it's a 12V.
If the oil filler cap is on the right bank, then it's a 30V.
The 30V's top black plastic covers have rounded contours whereas
the 12V's are more angular. The two engine bank's own black plastic
covers have only the Audi rings on them on the 12V, whereas the 30V
engine says "5V".
