Test, Vacuum line Alert, and what is it with (some) A4 drivers?

Just thought I'd send out a post to see if it bounces. It's amazing how,
when removed, the 100+ posts that I complain use too much time during the
day now leave quite a void in your life. Best of luck and thanks for your
efforts Dan, in bringing the list back up!
Well, just wanted to remind particularly turbo owners to keep track of
their vacuum lines. Finally got around to replacing the "T" hose on top
of the valve cover on my 200Q (it was sunny and "warm" after skiing, at
30 degrees F, so I decided to take advantage of the "heat" and replace my
hose right in the parking lot. WOW, what a difference 0.1 bar (1.47 PSI)
makes! I now (by factory gauge) easily make 1.4 bar in any gear, and it's
by the speedo, noticably faster. Feels stronger AND smoother by the seat
of the pants too. And now idle is ROCK steady. This was the last thing I
needed to do (except a by-pass valve) B4 raising boost. Can't wait to see
what that's like!
Speaking of doing maintenance in a public parking lot. My car was in
plain sight, hood up, me happily under it, however all 4 rings exposed in
their glory, when a guy in an A4Q drove up, looked at me and my car, then
parked back where I couldn't see past the hood. It was the last I saw of
him (tho not the car). Had the situation been reversed, I certainly would
have offered him some help if he wanted it. I'm sure it has nothing to do
with A4's, and a lot more to do with owning a newer car, but obviously
Audi history and lore didn't carry over to this guy. So, I KNOW I'm not
asking if he was a lister!
