Price of 5KCSTq's when new

Not to argue but, there must have been some serious dealer markup
involved or something. I have owned two 1987 5kCStqs and have/had window
stickers for both. (One of which, an Avant, my ex-wife and I bought at
only 3 years and 20k miles old for 20k...sigh) I also recall looking at
these cars new on the showroom floor when I bought my first Audi (a 1987
4000CSQ) new in early 1988. 5ktqs were ~32k in 1987 and the '88s were a
wee bit more. The thing that really stands out in my mind was the new
1987 911 Carrera for only $4k more than the 5ktq at ~36k. I sure wish
the 911 depreceated the way the type44 has! Another sigh.

It was not until the 1991 200q and V8 that Type 44 cars were up in the
40-50k range.
