Quattro generations (was: Miata Torsen)

I am not set in my ways, nor am I close-minded towards differing points of
view. The term can't (have a locking torsen)is an absolute that I don't
think applies here. I have read the post from Scott and am inclined to
listen to his experience as it is extensive. That being said, out and out
errors of this magnitude in reference to both ETKA and the Bentley seem
unlikely.

I would be inclined to think that perhaps, even if it is only sitting in the
parts warehouse, there exists the transmission that is detailed in the scan
I sent you. Further in Bentley there are other diagrams and service
procedures for this diff. I'm just pointing out what I have found in
reference to Phil's original post regarding a limited slip rear diff. There
is no indication of any kind of limited slip mechanism (other than a torsen)
in the existing rear diff or any other diff design shown by way of parts yet
there is definitely a reference to a limited slip diff.

My 1990 200TQ should have a transmission code of AAT, yet the code from the
build sticker in the trunck is AET/AUM. The AUM is a 5 speed, the AET is ?
ETKA shows this to be an 85-87 production code for the 5000TQ but I can't
find it in the parts listings. So what is it? My curiousity is such that I
just wnat to explore the possibilities.

Simply put an "Inquiring Mind Wants to Know"

Show me some fact rather than just heresay or experience.
