Watch this hose

I replaced mine in a parking lot too. parked my car to go for a run, came back and there was a pool of coolant under the car. I just cut the fitting off and slipped a piece of hose over the end of the pipe with a spare hose clamp and added some coolant (always have an extra gallon or two along with lots of other spare parts) it is a bit of a pain to get too, seem to remember having to move my ps pump. any ways it is a VERY good idea to replace this hose.

Audi actually makes a retrofit molded hose for this connection - a regular
piece of hose works just as well as their 27.00 3" part. Remove the
swage/compression fitting and you're set. Done it in a parking lot...
