Two types: Hirschmann or Fuba?  Both have mast replacement kits available
through dealers.  I bought a Fuba which cost $30 or so, which is almost the
price of a replacement antenna.

WD40 is not recommended.  Just wax the mast and polish clean.  Water will
drain through the antenna water outlet and they were supplied new with
moisture resistant grease.  WD40 is responsible for the cake mess you found.
