Hello All:
Regarding the MIME/HTML discussion:
Ameer makes a point that we shouldn't really worry about HTML & MIME, nor
worry about bandwidth. I see his point, but that's not really quite the
situation here.
The real point of my message: All of the list mesages go through a server.
An actual computer. A computer owned by someone. The list does not just
'magically exist'. Someone has to look after the gear that serves us so well.
So.. As we are 'using' someone's server, we should abide by the simple
rules that the server's owner asks us to play by.
That is, no HTML, no MIME. It's not a question if we can deal with HTML &
MIME, but are we going to respect the server owner's wishes.
I'm thinking that most users had their settings set wrong, only because
they did not realize the implications of their settiings. Or maybe didn't
even realize the settings were there to change.
Thanks to them for fixing things.
At the same time, i'l like to give thanks to Dan and his gang for running
the list, and to all those who took the trouble to sort out their email
settings.
And of course....
Thanks to all those who have BTDT with their Audi, ahead of me!
Regards,
