CB antenna mount on A6 avant

Need some advice here...

I spent some time today wiring and mounting the Valentine and CB in my
S6...but I am stymied as to where to mount the CB antenna. I was planning on
running a wire into the tailgate and out by the license plate. Then I mount
a plate behind the license plate with a tab sticking out to mount the CB
antenna itself.

But...

It doesn't look like there is any easy way to get a coax wire from the
interior of the car to the tailgate. The obvious place is up by the
hinge...but the trim panels on the rear sail panel don't want to come off
and it looks like there's no access into the hinge area *anyway*. There is
factory wiring that runs from the tailgate into the body by the hinge (and
covered by a rubber bellows type cover), so it *may* be possible, but...

So I'm open to other ideas on where to mount a good performance CB antenna
on the rear of an avant. I'd like the antenna to be removable, I don't want
to drill any holes in sheetmetal, and I'd prefer not to use a glass mount or
magnetic mount.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Lee
