Coupe GT hood and turbo

Howdy all listers,

I have heard that when doing a turbo upgrade on the coupe gt the air filter
from a type 44 does not fit under the hood well.  As I have considered
upgrading the engine and need a new hood I was wondering if a sport quattro
hood like the ones available from TAP would ease the situation.  I believe
these are like the hood on the top of this page
http://igdc.com/ejfluhr/Audi/Coupes.html.  However they are ~$700 so maybe
it would be cheaper to go another route.
