The belt on David Sutton's KW (S1) failed as Michele was bringing the car
back to the paddock after a second practice run at Goodwood. It was eleven
years and 900 miles old. Audi have a VERY limited stock of parts and getting
the bits necessary to rebuild the head was a matter of negotiation. I
_think_ the engine has now been rebuilt - it's about four years since the
incident.
Sport engine components are fundamentally no longer available to the public.
The Swiss Club has developed some sort of adapter plate to fit another 20V
head on the KW's block.
