Same here, and not only due to the greater quality of old M-B cars.

The scrapyards here are full of type 44s that didn't pass their test due to
lots of niggling little things, nothing major wrong with them.
Ever looked through ETKA for parts for a 1978 Audi 80 (Fox)? Nothing
available except for the stuff that carries over to current VWs.

They laugh at my '78. They think my beautiful '88 90q is a heap. These cars
don't earn them money, so they're not interested...
