5kq vs 4kq transmission ( was - Ur quattro gearbox woes)

Interesting.   I didn't realize that there was any gear change in the rear
diff (thought on the quattros that it would be 1:1).
So the question now becomes, if the 5kq has the same final drive, does it
have the same gearing in the tranny, or does it have taller gearing as well?

Sorry, scratch that last post, thought we were talking about the TQ tranny,
not the straight 5kq... my bad. In that case I believe that the 5kq does
have the same final drive, and should be a straight swap (no BTDT though).
