Which model of Audi radio do you have?  If it's a pre-89 5000 it's probably
an Rothenburg (don't know if Canadian cars are equipped the same as
US models).  The Rothenburg does not have a anti-theft code feature.
If you have a Rothenburg then it's likely to be some other kind of failure.
One thing of note...  The Audi Rothenburg was also sold as Blaupunkt
Los Angeles (with some minor cosmetic differences) in the aftermarket
around the same vintage.  Perhaps a Blaupunkt repair facility could help
you repair it.  However, as you state, it might be economically more
feasible to just change to an aftermarket radio.
