No Euro hitch usable in US

Our trailer hitchtes has a 2" ball, yes. My understanding was that the US
standard was a 2" square tube receiver hitch? I saw a Grand Cherokee that had a
modified receiver htich, where an axtra metal plate was welded on and a 2" ball
was bolted on to that.
