The receiver, the square tube mounted to what little on an Audi can be
called a "frame" on my commercially-hitched 5ktq is 1 1/2" OD reinforced
with a band around the opening that makes the OD 2". The towbar that
carries the ball is 1 1/4 SOLID square rod and the 2" ball is mounted to a
riser welded to the bar. The riser is formed from 1/2" steel a couple
inches across and braced to the bar. The ball has a 3/4" threaded stem.
