Autocheck protocol

I know this has been discussed but I can't see that it's gone anywhere.
Has anyone deduced the autocheck bus protocol in, say, the Type89 cars
(90q20v is what I've got). Does it use the CAN bus?  It'd be cool to
integrate stuff into that display. I've got lots of experience with
microcontrollers and some embedded systems, and would love to help out if
there is an effort going on.
