Yes, this is true.

I've also speculated with others on this list that compression would be 
somewhere in that neighborhood.  Can't confirm a number though.  Why don't 
you try it and tell us how it goes ;-)


I can tell you that Paul Tingaud was running an MC lower end with a 7A top 
end resulting in roughly 6.5:1 according to him.

I don't see why this would be the case other than a change in CR.

They also have very sophisticated ECUs.  The S4/S6 has distributorless 
ignition (it uses coil packs:  one for each cylinder).  This might account in 
part  for why they can safely run a relatively high CR with moderate boost 
pressure.
