fuel pump death song

    Well today I pulled in and it was humming super loud again.  This
morning when I started the car the pump made zapping noises, zzzt, zzzzzt.
Even when just energizing the pump I heard the zapping noises.  The old 80
did this and the pump lasted two more years, when the 80 made it's way near
the shop the mechanics would all comment on the shear noise level of the
pump, but it still worked.  I filled up the tank and started the car up and
it was back to normal, very strange considering the pump is external, I mean
it was back to normal pretty much, damn this heat...
