Car is a '87 5kcstq w/184k mi. Ok, update on my cold idle probs. Still
probs, but less so. I cleaned the ISV and snugged down some loose valve
cover bolts. But...
...as I removed the ISV, just below it is a red & green wire going to what
looks like a sensor. (pardon my ignorance!) And it seems that's connected to
the wastegate? Anyway, lots of gook and oil, I figure I'll disconnect,
clean, reattach. Broke off just from barely touching it! OOPS! So whatever
that sensor does, it does no more! What is that gizmo?
The car runs fine, full 1.3-4 boost, btw.
UNREALTED TOPICS: in Beverly Hills, always something to see. Today within 1
block and 10 seconds, saw a beautifully restored Citroen Traction Avant
(sp?). If you 'mericans don't know it, rent "Diva". Then saw a 4dr M-B
A-class. I read somewhere that M-B was experimenting w/possibly importing
them here. It'd be good for NYC, SF, etc., but LA-ers love their SUVs and
big cars. (like my 5kcstq)
