the problem with running speaker outputs into the next amp in line
(besides the higher distortion due the unnecessary amplifier), is the
the voltage is too high.
eight ohm resistors won't do much for that, in fact, if the soundgate
has high impedance inputs (say, 10k ohms), they'll nothing at all in
series to change this.
In parallel, they will "load" the output of the first amp, but won't
change the voltage being input to the next device.
So, as you may be beginning to realize, there is some "missing"
information you need to get your hands on, or some of the info you have
is not as accurate as you would like.
