Really? Don't know about the States, but under most European
laws, a wrong name is your ticket out (pun intended). The state
can't prove that mister Vangerbug drove too fast, since a mister
Vangerbug don't exist. And they cannot prove either that mister
Van Gerbig deserves a ticket, since they issued a ticket to mister
Vangerbug, not to mister Van Gerbig.

All one has to do in such a case is play dumb and don't appear in
court (they're not summoning you to appear, they want a guy with
another name :-)) "Vangerbug? Who? Never heard of him. Nah, me
don't know ****, you guys must have us confused."
