Warbling water pump??

Right,

I have it on good authority(experienced AUDI techs.) and also my own
experience, that the turkey gobble sound is from the tensioner pully.  The
90 deg. twist can be subjective.

This is not to say that similar sounds can't eminate from the water pump or
elsewhere.
