The Porsche 968 uses the 2WD 01E gearbox, just like the 2WD A8's.
Other than gear ratios, and the center differential & hollow counter
shaft this is essentially the same transmission as the 01E Quattro
gearbox.  It comes in a variety of configurations, gear ratios,
and I understand it has the same weak spots.
