It's even easier than that. Since the EU requires that fog lights be
independent of low beams, they provide a simple relay. Put the relay
in for the US, and the low beams power the fog lights. Take it out
and put in the brass jumper, and the fog lights are independent.
BTDT twice so far. Total time: less than 30 seconds, no wiring at all.
As for the 5-speed A6Q 2.8s, they are very rare.
I've heard numbers in the few hundreds tops. And they were only made
in 2000. It is *possible* he might still find one but I doubt it.
And I doubt that any owners would voluntarily part with theirs!
