Your problem is the person who hit you had Allstate for their car insurance.
Some indiot rear ended me while talking on his cell phone and he had Allstate.
I got two estimates of $1250 and $1380 to repair my 89 200.  Well good ole
Allstate said Tuff Titty and would only give me $745.  I ended up getting
$1100 after squawking alot and threatening to sue them and the Bozo who
hit.  My insurance agent told me that they are pretty bad at lowballing the
claim.
He said especially if it has been a bad year for them.
