It's a good time, since we're talking car-fi here, to plug using home
audiphile speakers in the car. If you haven't tried it, and have enough
amplification to drive an 8 ohm load reasonably, it's definitely worth
it.

Drivers can be had for next to nothing, and you really get to customize
the arrangement of your system as compared to combos that automotive
audio companies usually sell you. Not that I'm saying that you can
necessarily do better easily, but on a budget, it can be worthwhile.

I got Audax drivers and LPG tweeters for up front, and Madisound
coaxials for the rear. This is a very, very pleasant setup if you have
enough clean power.
