Though there are (were) AWD Golfs, none were imported to the US
legally, therefore in SCCA production classes, even grey market
ones aren't legal. They would be perfectly legal for OPEN classes,
but if the lister was interested in competing at a low budget, Open
Classes would NOT be the ticket (though more fun!). If the lister wants
to go production class racing w/AWD in SCCA Rally, he should try a 4KQ or
an 80/90/100/200 or something. 4KQ's are still rather cheap to buy
and maintain, so they'd be my choice if I wanted to go AWD.
