I have a Blaupunkt San Remo and a Sony whatever@#$235p4395, the Sony skips
like mad and the Blaupunkt is excellent. Both cost about the same, the only
thing the Blaupunkt lacks is the simple loudness switch of the Sony and a
pre-out. I love the preset 'switch on volume' of the Blau, the 'soft' mute
and the great sound quality. I've bought a Grundig to replace the Sony,
because it's basically useless for CDs. The Grundig has red backlighting
and the simple, elegant look that fits the Audi's dash.
I had a JVC for years, loved that too but the user interface was cr at p.
