MC engine needle bearing spec...

Hi!

I'm going to call SKF tomorrow for pricing on a needle bearing to fit
the crank of a MC engine. I am fitting a 016 UW gearbox. I noticed on
ETKA that they list 2 sizes of needle bearing. A C18x24x16 for MC engine
prior to MC 049 108, and a BK15x24x26 for those after that.

My old engine was MC049018 and the new(er) engine is MC050302. I don't
know how the needle bearings are measured.

What do the numbers in C18x24x16 and BK15x24x26 mean? I'm assuming it's
something like OD 24mm on each, ID 16mm on the first with ID 15mm on the
second, the first is 16mm long and the second is 26mm long. I'm only
figuring the ID of the bearings based on the measurement I took of the
bushing I pulled from the crank (was automatic).

I can't find the specs for the 016 UW in ETKA, but it seems the same as
016 WV (or was it VW?). Should I measure the diameter of the input shaft
of the gearbox before deciding which of these 2 bearings to get, or will
I be perfectly safe just taking BK15x24x26 seeing as the new(er) engine
is MC050302?

Thanks for the help.

G.
