inspection failure due to exhaust noise???

Maine just passed the same law this year, and to get the 90tq inspected
with the very free flowing system I have I made up some perforated steel
inserts that slide into the exhaust tips and are secured by set screws,
then packed a bit of steel wool behind each one. Brought the noise right
down, probably below stock levels. Certainly a performance hit, but it was
only there for ~20 minutes to get it inspected and back home ;) Was really
weird hearing just the turbo whine though, and not to accompanying growl
from the back....
