MC head re-build question

I am building up an MC motor I got from my mechanic
for my UrQ.  I want to have the head freshened up, but
I have noticed a few problems.  I have two snapped
exhaust manifold studs and both water neck bolts are
snapped as well. The parts to re-do the head alone are
over $150 plus the cost of having snapped studs
removed and the cost of re-seating the valves.  Would
it make more sense to get a re-built head and use mine
as a core?  What would that cost and where is a good
supplier?  Or, should I just have my head re-done?
