What brand of brake pads were you using? Sounds like some very serious
metallic pads. It's tough to imagine even very metallic pads causing that to
occur.
I've also used dozens of Brembo rotors here in the shop have not had any
similar problems. Most ofthe applications have been Volvos; but a few Audi
85 and 89 in there.
