CSV fuel line leakage

The other day, I noticed a fuel smell at all times inside my 89 90q. Upon
opening the hood while the engine was running, more specifically the fuel pump
running, I see a little stream of gasoline from the braided part of the fuel
line between the fuel distributor and the cold start valve.
While I wait for the new part (parts source said three days), and seeing as I
need to drive the car to work, what is the best plan of action on rigging the
line so that it doesn't leak? I understand that not driving the car is
preferable, but that's not really an option.
Could I just disconnect the line at the fuel distributor and plug the hole
until my new line comes? Could I cut and flare the line in the solid part and
cap it? Does disabling the line in any way cause the car to become inoperable?
What's the size of the bolt/flare fitting that goes into the fuel distributor?
Seeing as it is to the CSV and not to an injector, I assume that it could be
inessential to the running of the car for a few days, and that I may just get
rough starts?
Many thanks in advance
