I'd heard that the s3 had some crappy (non-torsen) awd system... no
longer true? Am I on crack? Should I just look it up myself? ;)
'course, I'm also too tall to sleep in back of an s3, which rules it
out in my book. YHMV.

I can imagine it, but nonetheless they're sweeeeet cars (at least
until the transmission breaks. I have a friend who has one of these,
and he basically takes it to the dealer for its 5000-mile "change the
oil, filter, and tranny"). But when it's working, it's a superbly fun
car to drive, even unmodified, and with Hakka 1s it has "adequate"
traction ;)

Turbo will _always_ be cool here in Boulder, a mile above sea level,
and almost twice that over some nearby mountain passes. :)
