I had a full of sand fuel filter than caused stumbling and major
headaches 1200 miles from home.
Some days it would go from JAX Fla to N.O. LA no problem.
Then around town no dice. Steep bridges, it would act up.

An emergency braking in NC on the freeway dislodged dirt into
the fuel system. This F'd me a few times at random places.
Now I figured the answer in retrospect.

Change Fuel Filter TODAY. check gizmo infront of fuel distributor
potentiometer (air Plate). It has two screws. Small & Rectanglular
in shape. Huw corrected me before on the name of this part but it
escapes me. Measure the two connectors (after you pull rubber boot
connector off) If ohms aren't a fixed value like 200 chuck it:
If value increases or Ohms reading by voltmeter blinks like infinity,
Part is bad: Chuck it. Get replacement from Junk yard.
Part is not avail seperately AFAIK. high milage issue W/dirty gas.

... on the way home I slowed down quickly in th=
ird gear to accommodate someone essentially running a stop sign.

 In=
Saco, Maine I slow down quickly again in third-gear to let an elderly lady=
pull out from a parking space...and the car dies.

As I was accelerating (actually in third-gear again), a l=
ady backed out of her driveway, without looking up and down the street, and=
I was forced to slow down quickly again...and got the same results as befo=
re....a stall.
