Idle RPM changed - help! UPDATE!

Thank you to all,  especially HUW.  Heres what i found:

well got to it finally and first found several dead grasshoppers and some
"scoria" (rock that they put on the road in the winter) jamming the spring on
top of the throttle linkage.  Got that all cleaned and sprayed cleaner/lube
on the springs and all was good.  The second butterfly was being held open
also by the debris.  Cleaned inside the throttle body as well but not too
much build up on it.
