Note: Torque wrenches measure force.  (Numbers on the wrench are actually
force x distance of center of torque wrench handle to center of square drive.
Or put another way, the force you are exerting on the end of the wrench
is the indicated torque divided by the length of the wrench.)

The (d1 + d2)/d2 multiplier where d1 is length of extension and d2
length of the wrench presented elsewhere is correct and can be found
in the manual supplied with many torque wrenches.
